"Children are a blessing, but that doesn't mean that at all costs you should have as many kids as possible," says the former 19 Kids and Counting star.
But despite the challenges, Mendes isn't losing sight of what's important. "When we feel like we're just 'in it,' like all parents do during these times," she says, "we remind ourselves that these are the good times, because we're all together and we're all safe right now."
