Mandy Moore says her work on ‘This is Us’ is preparing her for the birth of her first child.

Moore stars as Rebecca on NBC’s ‘This Is Us,’ the matriarch of the Pearson family. She plays a woman with three children and the show navigates different timelines to show how the family’s past affects their present.

The pregnant actor says her role as Rebecca is preparing her for the birth of her son.

“It’s funny, I mean having played a sort of matriarch of a family for the last five years and getting to sort of see children at various different chapters and stages, I feel like I’m as pseudo-prepared as I can be,” she said in an interview with NBC’s Hoda Kotb. “I’ve had babies and toddlers and I have adult children, so I’ve kind of gotten a pretty good taste and lay of the land.”

‘This Is Us’ is currently filming its fifth season. Moore says her baby bump will most likely be hidden with props and deliberate camera framing.

“Very conspicuous costumes, I guess, to hide stuff,” she said. “I’m sure you’ll see Rebecca carrying a lot of laundry baskets and oversized purses, god knows what, for the next couple of months.”

Moore announced her pregnancy back in September with a series of black-and-white snaps captioned “Baby Boy Goldsmith coming early 2021.”

It’s the first baby for the actor and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith.

Moore says she’s already received lots of “unsolicited advice” when it comes to parenting.

“I’m all for it! I will welcome anything because I know nothing,” she joked. “I’m like a sponge – I want to soak it all up.”

Moore added that she’s enjoying imagining how their little boy will change their lives.

“My husband is a musician, so the idea of being able to have music be this through line in his life is really exciting,” she said. “To be able to bring him on the road with us is an exciting prospect. And the holidays, we’re sort of like at the beginning of the best season of the year, and I think about traditions and the way we’re going be a family together. It’s so exciting.”
