This Baby Bath Seat is Being Recalled

A baby bath seat sold exclusively on Amazon has been recalled after safety officials deemed it a “drowning hazard.”

The Consumer Product Safety Commission said about 5,000 BATTOP Foldable Infant Bath Seats are being recalled after failing to meet the federal safety standard for infant bath seats.

The seat can tip over while in use, “posing a drowning hazard to babies,” says the CPSC.

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported so far.

The seats were sold on Amazon from July to October 2020 for $40. The seat came in green, blue and gray versions; all three colors are being recalled. The model number BB2206 can be found on the sticker on the back of the bath seat with the following statement: “Advertisement – Warning NEVER LEAVE YOUR CHILD UNATTENDED.”
