Karlie Kloss, 33-year-old model and entrepreneur, and her husband, investor Joshua Kushner, are officially a family of five. On September 20, the couple announced the birth of their third child—and first daughter—a baby girl named Rae Florence Kushner through an Instagram post.

Kushner, 40, was the first to share the joyful news, posting a sweet photo of Rae swaddled in a blanket and wearing a pink beanie. His caption simply read: “Rae Florence 9.18.2025,” followed by a white heart emoji.

The next day, Kloss added her own tender introduction. She shared a black-and-white snap of Rae’s tiny hand clutching her finger on Instagram, writing: “Welcome to the world Rae Florence 9.18.25,” complete with sparkles and prayer-hands emojis. Kushner responded with a heart-eyes emoji in the comments.

Loved ones and celebrity friends celebrate the new arrival

As news of Rae Florence’s arrival spread, friends, family, and fans couldn’t help but share in the excitement. A new chapter with their first daughter

Rae joins big brothers Levi, 4, and Elijah, 2. For Kloss and Kushner, who wed in 2018, expanding their family has been a visible—and joyfully celebrated—part of their journey.

Back in March, Kloss shared that she was expecting again, posting photos on Instagram of her baby bump alongside a picture of Levi and Elijah hugging, captioned simply: “Three’s a party.” She later showcased her pregnancy at the 2025 Met Gala, striking a pose in a black pleated gown and thigh-high boots.

It wasn’t her first time hitting the Met Gala red carpet while expecting—she also revealed her pregnancy with Elijah during the 2023 event.

Choosing privacy, embracing joy

While Kloss and Kushner have been generous in sharing glimpses of their growing family, they’ve also drawn a clear line: their children’s faces remain private.

For many modern parents—celebrity or not—there’s a growing debate about how much of our children’s lives to share online. Kloss’ decision to focus on tiny, symbolic moments instead of full portraits reflects a boundary-setting many parents can relate to: protecting kids’ privacy while still celebrating their milestones.

Siblings, daughters, and the evolving shape of family

The arrival of a first daughter after two sons can bring a unique shift in family energy. As Kloss and Kushner welcome Rae, she joins a household where Levi and Elijah are already learning the roles of protective older brothers. This first-girl dynamic can create tender, playful moments, from gentle teaching and sibling rivalry to unexpected displays of affection. It also introduces a new perspective for parents navigating different personalities and needs, highlighting how each child—regardless of birth order or gender—reshapes the rhythms, routines, and bonds of the family.

Parenting experts often note that sibling relationships are some of the longest-lasting bonds in our lives, and the adjustment period—especially when adding a new baby—can be both tender and challenging. Kloss’ earlier post of her sons hugging ahead of Rae’s arrival already hinted at the sweet ways siblings prepare for these changes.

At the same time, Kloss’ choice to maintain her children’s privacy reflects a growing movement among public figures to protect kids from the pressures of online visibility. It’s a reminder to parents everywhere that while each family shares differently, setting boundaries is an act of love.

A moment every parent can relate to

Whether it’s the thrill of introducing a new baby to older siblings or the quiet awe of holding a newborn’s hand, Kloss’ posts capture the emotions many parents know well: joy, gratitude, and a little disbelief that such a tiny person can hold so much love.
