Kieran Culkin and Jazz Charton are about to become parents of three and the story of how it happened feels straight out of a Hollywood script.
The Succession star went viral earlier this year after his Oscars acceptance speech, where he revealed that his wife had promised him another baby if he took home a statue. Now, Jazz has confirmed she kept her end of the deal.
On Sunday night, Charton debuted her baby bump while attending the opening night of Waiting for Godot on Broadway, starring Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter. She later made the news official on Instagram with a wink to her pregnancy timing.
“Saw Keanu Reeves on broadway and now I’m 9 months pregnant … this is very on brand for me,” she joked. “I made a deal with this baby to let me make it to this before labor, not sure what it wants in return but I’m CLEARLY a woman of my word.”

The baby pact that went public
Culkin has never been shy about wanting to grow their family. Back in January 2024, when he won the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama Series, he thanked his wife on stage while also putting in a bold request:
“Thank you for sharing your life with me and giving me two amazing kids,” he said. “And, Jazz, I want more. You said maybe, if I win.”
By March, he was doubling down at the Academy Awards, where he accepted the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in A Real Pain. During his speech, he shared just how far their playful pact had gone.
He recalled Charton telling him after his Emmy win, “I guess I owe you a third kid.” Culkin admitted he pushed it further: “Really, I want four.”
According to Culkin, his wife didn’t back down. “And she turned to me — I swear to God this happened. It was just a over a year ago. She said, ‘I will give you four when you win an Oscar.’”
The actor closed his speech with a grin: “Let’s get cracking on those kids. What do you say?”
Jazz’s response
While many celebrity spouses might have rolled their eyes at such a public request, Charton leaned into the humor. Two days later, she posted on Instagram:
“AN OSCAR?!!!! Okay okay hear me out — making empty baby pacts may seem foolish but it’s clearly been a great motivator. Would he have come this far if I hadn’t kept promising him more kids if he won awards?….. Probably. But who’s to say?…”
Now, with a baby due any day, it looks like the Culkins’ family pact has played out exactly as promised.
For parents, their story feels both glamorous and relatable—the playful negotiations, the “maybe if…” promises, and the surprising ways family goals get set. Because behind the red carpets and golden statues are two parents navigating the same dreams and decisions so many of us do: when (and how) to grow their family.
