Jenna Dewan is a lot of things. She’s a dancer, an actress, and (if you’ve seen her Instagram you already know this) she’s a really sexy woman. She’s also a mom, sharing her 5-year-old daughter, Everly, with her ex, Channing Tatum.

She’s also someone who totally owns her sensual side, and says motherhood didn’t diminish her sexiness but amplified it.

“Apparently, when you become a mother, you’re supposed to leave your sexuality at the door, and I never understood that,” she recently told Women’s Health. “I think there’s nothing sexier than becoming a mother. You give life. It’s everything. And you don’t change who you are inside just because you have a kid.”

Indeed, if you scroll back through Dewan’s social media you’ll see the photoshoots she’s done since becoming a mom have increasing levels of heat. She’s just getting hotter all the time. While some internet commenters have suggested sexy photo shoots are not appropriate for a mom, Dewan totally disagrees and proved it by disrobing for the cover of Women’s Health.

“I want my daughter to see that and be like, ‘Wow, my mother was a fully actualized, sensual woman’,” she explained.

Moms can be sexy

While studies show that “mom” and “sexy woman” are often seen as contradictory roles , more and more moms are proving that women don’t have to pick one or the other.

Dewan is hardly the only celebrity to pose for or post sexy photos after becoming a mother. Every one of the Kardashian-Jenner mamas does it and Chrissy Teigen is still as smokin’ as ever. These women prove that if you were a sensual, sexy person before motherhood, you don’t just change when you become a mom.

And sexiness doesn’t always mean posing naked or donning a bodycon dress. For a lot of mothers, an increase in confidence after motherhood keeps them feeling sexy, even on those messy bun and sweatpants days.

A recent survey found 56% of new mothers and 51% of experienced mothers feel more confident and comfortable in their bodies now than prior to pregnancy, and confidence is sexy.

“Mom” isn’t a bad word

Even the word “mom” is getting a sexier connotation these days, thanks in part to celebrities like the aforementioned Kardashians. As Slate reports , the word “mom” no longer evokes images of frumpy jeans and bad perms, but has become shorthand for powerful women. And we think that is beyond sexy. ?
