When you hold your new baby for the first time there is so much joy, and joy is something that Bode and Morgan Miller haven’t experienced much of this year. When the couple lost their 19-month-old daughter, Emeline Grier Miller (who drowned in a swimming pool in June) the nation cried and mourned with them, and now, we can congratulate them on the birth of Emmy’s little brother. The baby boy—who doesn’t have a name just yet—arrived over the weekend. “While nothing will ever replace the feeling of aching arms to hold Emmy again, this baby provided something new this day: joy, inspiration and hope,” the couple’s midwife, Lindsey Meehleis told TODAY.
Their baby boy arrived exactly one month before what would have been Emmy’s second birthday. “As Morgan pushed, his head filled Bode’s hands, with one more push, he removed the bag of water that veiled him and caught their baby boy,” Meehleis told TODAY. “Morgan’s fingers grasped onto their son, who filled such empty arms.” Emmy can never be replaced, and she will never be forgotten. Her legacy is making all our children safer. Congratulations to the Millers on the birth of their sweet baby boy. ?
