I was a freshman in college the year Something’s Gotta Give came out, and I vividly remember my 18-year-old self vowing to attain the “coastal grandmother” aesthetic someday. It’s billowy dresses with chunky jewelry and a contrasting blazer. It’s crisp button-downs with the cuffs rolled up. It’s pretending you’re the type of woman who always has freshly-cut flowers on display and can wear white without spilling on it.
