The amazing thing about women’s bodies is that each and every one of them is unique—and responds to pregnancy in unique ways. Even more incredible is how this can even vary from baby to baby for the same mama. And even though she just welcomed her third child, singer Jessie James Decker says she’s having a different postpartum experience than with her first two babies.

“Keepin it real! 3 weeks post and I’m still very swollen. The 3rd has been by far the hardest recovery, but I’m feeling stronger every day,” says Decker in the caption of a new Instagram post. Baby Forrest Bradley joined the Decker family on March 31, which includes his 2.5-year-old brother, Eric “Bubby”, and 4-year-old sister, Vivianne.

After being so open with what pregnancy was like the third time around, Decker says she felt it was only fair to be honest about the challenges she’s faced postpartum, too.

“I know I say this after each baby but remember what our bodies just when through for 9 months and be proud, don’t stress over post baby body,” Decker says. “Just enjoy your new baby because these are beautiful moments and memories you will cherish forever (aaaand drink your coffee to survive the no sleeping all night long ha!)”

Recently, some celebrities have been vocally challenging the pressure to “bounce back” right after giving birth. (Which is pretty unrealistic, by the way. Remember the Duchess of Cambridge had a team of stylists helping her.) In her own postpartum Instagram selfie after having her third child, Daphne Oz put it this way, “There is no bounce-back, it’s all onwards and upwards.”

We are all for embracing this philosophy. After all, as Decker adds in her post “it sure is incredible what the body can do”—the timelines just vary for each of us.
