Home / Life Cauliflower recall linked to E.coli: What parents need to know No one has fallen ill, but you shouldn't eat it. By Heather Marcoux December 19, 2018 Rectangle Cauliflower has become a trendy (and versatile!) vegetable. If your kids are gluten-free (or just vegetable adverse) it can be pizza crust. If you’re cutting carbs (or just trying to get more veggies) it can be a great substitute for rice. It’s awesome, but unfortunately you might want to leave it off the menu for a little while. Cauliflower from California-based Adam Bros. Farming is being voluntarily recalled after sediment from a water source near where the produce was grown tested positive for E. coli. The cauliflower was distributed in several states (Arizona, California, Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, North Carolina, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania), Mexico and Canada. The recall also impacts red and green leaf lettuce (the green lettuce was distributed in California, Colorado, Oregon, Texas, Pennsylvania, Washington and Canada, while the red leaf variety only went to Minnesota and Mexico). Following that recall, Wegmans issued a recall for fresh Cauliflower Rice, Veggie Cauliflower Rice Blend and Stir-Fry Mix with Cauliflower, sold between December 7 and 18 in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Massachusetts.
