If you're looking for a toy to inspire your child's imagination and activism, you might want to check out the new Dr. Maya Angelou Barbie doll.

Mattel is honoring the activist and author with a stunning doll in the Inspiring Women Collection.

The Dr. Angelou doll is dressed in a floral dress and head wrap and comes with a tiny copy of I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings.

"Barbie is proud to honor the extraordinary Maya Angelou as the newest heroine in the Inspiring Women Collection," Mattel announced on Twitter. "As an author, activist & teacher, Dr. Angelou is an inspiration for what can be achieved when we speak up, stand out & refuse to be silenced."

Maya Angelou is remembered for her activism and extraordinary literary talent. A Presidential Medal of Honor recipient, Dr. Angelou earned a National Book Award nomination for her 1970 autobiography, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings. In 1993, she became the first African American and female poet to speak at a U.S. Presidential inauguration.

Barbie's Inspiring Women collector series honors women whose work has inspired the world. Other dolls in the series include Rosa Parks, Sally Ride, Susan B. Anthony, and Ella Fitzgerald.

Angelou's son, Guy Johnson, said he's "delighted" that his mother was honored with the tribute.

"My mother, Dr. Maya Angelou, was a pioneer and an activist with an invincible spirit for justice," Johnson said in a statement. "Through her words and actions, she developed a unique ability to create deep connections with people around the world. She used to say, 'I write from the Black perspective, but I aim for the human heart'."
