A modern lifestyle brand redefining motherhood

All the new Amazon + Whole Foods perks that moms needs to know

For years, I’ve just accepted that a visit to Whole Foods is going to cost a whole lot more than shopping at my other local grocery stores. But with the delicious pre-made food options, the extensive organic section and my *favorite* fresh chocolate chip cookies—spending a few extra bucks was worth it to me. Soon, though, I may be able to get all my faves and more for way less money: Thanks to the new Amazon + Whole Foods merger, the grocer is set to drop prices and extend special discounts to Amazon Prime members.

“Amazon and Whole Foods Market technology teams will begin to integrate Amazon Prime into the Whole Foods Market point-of-sale system, and when this work is complete, Prime members will receive special savings and in-store benefits,” the companies said in a press release this week.

What’s more, even customers who aren’t Prime members can expect lower prices on goods ranging from organic avocados to animal-welfare-rated 85% lean ground beef and even 365 Everyday Value organic butter. Those newly discounted prices can be found in your local Whole Foods as soon as this upcoming Monday (August 28), the day the acquisition deal is set to close.

“We’re determined to make healthy and organic food affordable for everyone,” says Jeff Wilke, CEO of AmazonWorldwide Consumer. “We will lower prices without compromising Whole Foods Market’s long-held commitment to the highest standards.”

As for when Amazon will enable same-day delivery of diapers you just realized you’re out of while in the midst of a blowout, we’re getting closer: Products from Whole Foods’ private label, 365 Everyday Value, will soon be available for purchase on Amazon. (That includes good such as diapers, wipes, baby-friendly detergant and more.)

Other perks the companies said we can expect to see soon include...

1. Amazon Prime will eventually replace Whole Foods’ existing member reward program, which will give Amazon’s estimated 65 million Prime members exclusive discounts and other in-store benefits.

2. In addition to 365 Everyday Value, the in-house brands Whole Foods Market, Whole Paws and Whole Catch will be available for purchase (and shipping!) through Amazon.com, AmazonFresh, Prime Pantry and Prime Now.

3. Amazon Lockers will be popping up at certain Whole Foods locations—making it easier for customers to pick up and return items.

4. More benefits promised... Hopefully including a way for me to say, “Alexa, please deliver some Whole Foods chocolate chip cookies around 7 p.m. tonight!” ?
