Ashbey Beasley, a mother and mass shooting survivor herself, interrupted Fox News live broadcast to call out the station and Republican viewers for their lack of support for gun reform.

“How is this still happening? How are our children still dying and why are we failing them?” she asks in the clip, now going viral on Twitter.

Beasley survived the Highland Park mass shooting during a July 4th parade last year, and is currently visiting friends in Nashville when the most recent school shooting unfolded.

The shooting occurred on Monday morning at the Covenant School, a Christian elementary school in Nashville, Tennessee. At least three children and three staff members were shot and killed, officials say.

“I’m from Highland Park, Illinois,” she continues. “My son and I survived a mass shooting over the summer.”

In the clip, Beasley says she’s been lobbying in Washington, D.C., since surviving the shooting. She also said she’s met with over 130 lawmakers on the issue since then as well.

“Gun violence is the number one killer of children and teens,” she continues. “These mass shootings will continue to happen until our lawmakers step up and pass gun safety legislation.”

Andy Ogles, the Tennesee representative overseeing the Covenant school, shared this image as his family’s Christmas card just last year:

The suspect entered the school through a side entrance and was armed with at least two assault-type rifles and a handgun, and has not yet been formally identified. No one who was shot survived.

Following up with an appearance on CNN, Beasley brings up a solid, if depressing, point:

“It’s only in America. Can somebody survive a mass shooting and then go on vacation and find themselves in another involved like near another mass shooting?”
