Pregnancy isn’t magical all of the time. It comes with side effects that range from uncomfortable to outright painful, like all-day-long morning sickness, back-to-back colds or even insomnia. But guess what… Whatever the pregnancy discomfort you are experiencing, there’s a mocktail for it. You heard us right: not ginger ale, not ice water, not chamomile tea — a fun and delicious drink that will help you cope with some of the harshest pregnancy symptoms.

Elettra Wiedemann from Impatient Foodie and Willow Jarosh and Stephanie Clarke from C&J Nutrition all dealt with debilitating ailments during their pregnancies, and none of the common remedies brought them relief. So they wrote Mamma Mocktails. Easy and quick to make, their collection of mocktails help moms-to-be feel their best AND provide important nutrients to mamas and their growing babies.

The mocktail below isn’t just fresh and hydrating; it is also packed with nutrients that will boost your mood, your immune system and your energy! If you ask us, it is the perfect summer drink! Brought to you by Mamma Mocktails, here’s a simple, yet drool-worthy recipe for a cucumber rose lemonade that even your non-pregnant friend will be begging for.

This refreshing mocktail is very light with just a light fragrance of rose—the perfect pick me up for mammas-to-be who are feeling not so rosey. Hydration is so important if you’ve been feeling bleh, and this combination lends vitamin C along with a boost of water. Vitamin C is an important building block collagen, which is then used in creating bone, tendons, cartilage, and skin. It’s also important for mom’s immune system and can even help with iron absorption.

Ice

3 fresh strawberries, green tops removed

1 Tablespoon agave nectar (or to taste)

2 ounces freshly squeezed lemon juice (from about 2 small lemons)
