To everyone facing infertility this Christmas: I know the ache of ‘not this year’

As another holiday season comes and goes, I know how easy it is to begin to wonder if you're ever going to be called mom.
Merry Christmas to everyone going through infertility. I know how hard this season is.
I know so many of us hoped, prayed, and begged that we would be able to be pregnant or have a baby in our arms this Christmas morning, but instead we’re continuing to be told not yet.
As another holiday season comes and goes, I know how easy it is to begin to wonder if you’re ever going to be called mom.

But you should be so proud of yourself that you’ve continued to show up and try month after month. You should be so proud that you’ve continued to find joy and truly continue to live life to the fullest through one of the hardest seasons of life.
You should be so proud that you’ve continued to fight for answers and advocate for yourself in order to bring that baby into this world.
I know this season isn’t easy, and I pray next Christmas we will all have a baby in our arms or in our belly. We just have to keep going.
