How would you describe your pregnant style?

My pregnancy style would best be summed up with two words: toddler friendly. As a downtown mom, I have maintained my casual style throughout with comfy cotton tees, a favorite pair of distressed maternity jeans, and slide-on Converse sneakers (yes, they are amazing!). When I felt like dressing up, I always went for a form-fitting, no fuss dress that highlighted my growing bump!

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during pregnancy?

This pregnancy has been entirely different from my first, starting with the fact that I am having a boy! I have carried this little guy entirely different from my daughter and therefore the maternity clothes I previously owned haven’t quite fit the same. Also, when I was pregnant with my daughter three years ago, I was working full time at a PR firm and had a very different dress code. As a result, I was able to freshen up my maternity wardrobe and purchase some great pieces that really reflect my personal style this time around.

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

I waited almost two years until I was ready to starting trying for a second child and in that time, I gained a lot of needed perspective on what it truly means to be a mom. With this pregnancy I understood the gravity of bringing a child into the world and that mindset forced me to slow down, appreciate, and revel in the experience a bit more.

What are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

For the last three years, my husband, daughter, and I have created such a tightknit little family; we’ve been fortunate enough to travel, explore our great city and spend a lot of quality time together. I am so excited to welcome another child into the mix and watch the dynamic shift into an even greater, if not crazier family unit.
