The recent parenting fiasco Kristen Bell shared on Instagram is just more proof that she's one of the most relatable moms on the internet. The actress is mom to two daughters: 6-year-old Lincoln and 5-year-old Delta. It seems one of the girls decided to give their hair a little D.I.Y. moisturizing treatment this week—in the form of a whole lot of Vaseline.

Bell took to Instagram with an S.O.S. for her 13 million followers, sharing a picture of the little girl's goo-slathered head and asking for advice on how to get it out.

Having to wash something icky and sticky out of your child's hair is basically a parenting rite-of-passage, but Bell's daughter choice was a particularly challenging one. If you've ever been in a similar situation, you know that greasy goo is one of the hardest things to wash out.

Luckily, Bell's followers came through with a key suggestion.

The key suggestion? Dawn dish soap. It's a tried and true remedy for cleaning up oily, greasy situations—so much so that it's often the product of choice when there's an oil spill that affects wildlife, according to the New York Times. Apparently, it's just as effective on little girls as it is on baby otters and ducks.

It looks like a little help from her followers saved Bell from further frustration—but that aggravated look in her eyes is one that parents will recognize instantly. They say it takes a village to raise a child, and luckily for Bell, her Instagram village came through in the clutch.
