Raise your hand if you were obsessed with reading The Baby-Sitters Club series growing up? ♀️

We’ve got some news for you, mama!

Netflix announced earlier this year that they would be rebooting the series—it was once adapted for TV back in 1990—and turning it into a live-action show on the popular streaming service. And if that couldn’t get any better, they just announced that Alicia Silverstone has been cast as Elizabeth Thomas-Brewer, the mom to Kristry Thomas. As a mama to 7-year-old Bear, it seems like the perfect opportunity.

If that’s not a nostalgia moment, we don’t know what is. Silverstone will also be on set with Mark Feuerstein, best known for his role in Royal Pains.

And, don’t worry, the book’s author, Ann M. Martin, will be producing the show alongside some incredible company. So we can bet that it will closely follow the original best-selling book series, touching on friendships, babysitting adventures and navigating family life.

“I’m amazed that there are so many passionate fans of The Baby-Sitters Club after all these years, and I’m honored to continue to hear from readers—now grown, who have become writers, editors, teachers, librarians, filmmakers—who say that they see a reflection of themselves in the characters of Kristy and her friends. So I’m very excited about the forthcoming series on Netflix, which I hope will inspire a new generation of readers and leaders everywhere,” said Martin in a press release.

Netflix has set 10 episodes so you can binge it in one sitting once it’s available. Production has begun in Vancouver so we’ll be keeping our eyes peeled for an official air date.
