Last year two 2-year-old BFFs became internet sensations when a video of the toddlers running to hug each other on the street went viral.

New York City dad Michael Cisneros, took a video of his son, Maxwell, spotting his best friend, Finnegan, on the street. The scene is absolutely adorable: Maxwell and Finnegan run straight towards each other and hug, just totally overjoyed to see each other.

Now, as Black Lives Matter protests are changing the world, the video has taken on a new meaning and is going viral again. Cisnernos tells Today: "George Floyd may be a catalyst to a revolution we need. I'm super proud the video has brought so much happiness and hope."

Cisnernos says he didn't understand how much this little video would come to mean when he posted it last year, but as the tiny BFFs keep going viral, he's understanding the impact the image is having on the world.

"I didn't see it at the time, but I see it now," he explains. "It was a beacon of hope. It shows love and what the future could be like if children were raised in a different way ... It's going to be kind of iconic. I've gotten messages from people all around the world."

Maxwell and Finnegan even share an Instagram account called @wellegan (for MaxWELL + FinnEGAN) and their parents hope their preschoolers' viral fame can make a difference in this world.
