Joanna Gaines is a busy working mother, obviously. With five kids and at least as many businesses, Jo has a full calendar. Her time is precious, and like all of us, there sometimes aren't as many minutes in her day as she would like. With so many competing priorities on her plate, it would be easy for Jo to succumb to mom guilt, but she doesn't. She refuses to beat herself up about spending time away from her kids in order to provide for them, and she has some advice for any mothers who do:
"Replace the word guilt with grace. Look for grace in the moments, the small wins that lead to the greatest investments in their little hearts."
As Jo relived the moment in a note to her IG followers, she spoke directly to those of us who are also tired and busy, and suggested that a simple shift in perspective can help parents appreciate the connections we have with our kids, and understand that we are enough and we are doing enough. "From one mom to another, stop being so hard on yourself," Jo writes. "Don't spend another second focusing on failure, instead use whatever time and whatever energy you have and look for the moments where grace can be found. Because I'm telling you, this grace is sufficient." It's great advice, and coming from a mama who's as busy as she is, it means something. Thank you for giving us some of your grace today, Jo. ✨
