John Aniston, beloved actor and father to superstar Jennifer Aniston, has passed away at the age of 89.

He was best known for his original role in the Emmy-winning daytime show “Days of Our Lives.”

Jennifer Aniston made the announcement on Monday, November 14 that her father passed away last Friday, November 11.

The “Friends” star, 53, posted a touching message along with a few photos of them together over the years on her Instagram account.

“Sweet papa…John Anthony Aniston,” she wrote. “You were one of the most beautiful humans I ever knew. I am so grateful that you went soaring into the heavens in peace — and without pain.”

“And on 11/11 no less! You always had perfect timing. That number will forever hold an even greater meaning for me now 🕊️I’ll love you till the end of time💔⁣”

She ended with, “Don’t forget to visit 💫🤗❤️”

The longtime actor who was previously in the military, passed away on Veteran’s Day.

“Days of Our Lives” also posted a sweet tribute video to their costar.

“Our hearts are broken over the loss of our beloved family member John Aniston,” they captioned the post. “We love you John. Your legend will live on.”

The hit show first aired in 1965 and is currently on Season 58. Aniston appeared in the most recent episode, which aired on Friday.

John Aniston was recently awarded the Daytime Emmys Lifetime Achievement Award in June for his role on the soap opera. He has been playing the role of John Kiriakas since 1985. Although he didn’t attend the ceremony, Jennifer Aniston made a virtual appearance to accept it on his behalf.

“This is truly a special moment for me,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to not only pay tribute to a true icon in the daytime television world, but it’s also a chance to recognize the lifelong achievements of a great and well-respected actor, who also happens to be my dad.”

“For over 30 years, his dedication to that show has gained him respect and admiration of his fellow actors, deep friendships and thrilled millions of fans around the world,” she added. “His career is literally the definition of lifetime achievement.”

He was once asked in an interview with the Television Academy Foundation which career achievement he was most proud of. He responded, “I don’t know. Some play down the line somewhere. Maybe Royal Hunt of the Sun. .. We did it at Theatre East.”

“It was phenomenal the way the director conceived it and did that,” he added. “Yeah, we were all very proud of that.”

John Aniston was born in 1933 in Crete. His Hollywood career goes far beyond his role in the popular soap opera. He has appeared in “Gilmore Girls,” “Mad Men and “The West Wing,” among many others.

He leaves behind his son, Alex Aniston, and daughter, Jennifer. His first wife, Jennifer’s mother, Nancy Dow, passed away in 2016.
