I don’t know about you, mamas, but sex was totally different for me while I was pregnant with my now-toddler son. Getting it on with a baby bump in the way just isn’t the same. Mom-to-be Khloé Kardashian knows exactly what I am talking about.

Kardashian recently took to her Khloe With a K app to answer a fan’s intimate question about pregnancy sex. Let’s just say, the 33-year-old did not mince words.

“In the beginning, sex was the same,” Kardashian wrote to her fans. “As I got into my third trimester and started to get bigger, it became harder to have sex and a little more uncomfortable and limiting.”

The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has a supportive partner in boyfriend Tristan Thompson, telling fans the NBA player has been “amazing” and “would never make me feel different in any way.”

The Good American co-founder admits she’s felt insecure in the bedroom since her bump’s grown bigger, and suggests pregnancy is a great time to try something different if, like her, you’re feeling limited by your bump.

“You just have to improvise and do the best you can,” she tells fans via her app.

It’s good advice. Pregnancy sex is certainly different but it can also be hot and steamy, and make a mama-to-be feel oh-so-sexy in and out of bed.

Keep in mind these three tip for comfortable (maybe even earth-shattering) sex throughout pregnancy:

Pay attention to your sex drive

Your libido will take a nose dive during your first trimester, then amp up during the second trimester until it wanes in the last months of pregnancy. Take advantage of the days when your sex drive is through the roof.

Invest in lube

Hormonal changes during pregnancy may cause you to be dryer than usual, so invest in water-based lubrication to make pregnancy sex a comfortable experience. (Keep in mind: Self-lubrication may increase during the second trimester, but still buy lube!)

Find the right positions for you

Let’s be honest: Missionary will not work during pregnancy. Sure, you could try the position in the first trimester, but as your belly grows, it will be near impossible to maneuver. Instead, try different positions like woman on top, sitting, side-by-side, spooning or on hands and knees. Once you find the right position for you, stick with it.

Pregnancy sex may be intimidating, but don’t underestimate how sexy and sensual you can be, mama.
