Getting pregnant can be complicated. We chose some of our most helpful products to help take you from fertile to preggo, as fast as possible.

1. Fertility-friendly lubricant

Preseed lubricant, unlike other products, won’t impede sperm on their big important journey up the fallopian tube. It also “provides antioxidant support for sperm,” so basically it feeds them dinner before they embark on their adventure. ✈️ It’s not as silky as other everyday lubes, so you may need more of it. But it gets the job done.

Swim, baby, swim!

2. Ovulation predictor kits

OPKs as they’re known in trying-to-conceive lingo typically monitor hormone levels in your urine to accurately pinpoint exactly when you’re ovulating. (Helping you know exactly when to get to work).

Clearblue’s Advanced Ovulation kit for example, identifies two key urinary fertility hormones, estrone-3-glucuronide and luteinizing hormone (LH).

What you need to know: These kits will take the guesswork out of ovulation and can help you conceive sooner.

3. Prenatal vitamin

Start taking a prenatal 3 months before you start trying to get pregnant, if possible.

Take one with 400 to 800 micrograms of folic acid, experts say, “every day for at least 3 months before getting pregnant to lower your risk of some birth defects of the brain and spine.”

Rainbow Light’s Prenatal One multivitamin has done the trick for Motherly’s mamas and is easy on the tummy.

4. Fertility app

We review Glow, Clue and Kindara here.

All are great, but it can help to use them for a few months to really get the hang of your cycle. These apps all use complex algorithms—and your data input on details like cervical mucous, temperature and ovulation kit tests—to give you a fuller look into your complete cycle.
