Emma Roberts is sharing her best advice for motherhood—and we are so here for it.

Roberts and actor Garrett Hedlund welcomed their son Rhodes Robert in December.

In a new interview with her Scream Queens costar Jamie Lee Curtis for Violet Grey, Roberts shared the advice she wishes she had before Rhodes’s arrival.

“It’s not something you’ll always feel like you’re getting right, but you will get better every day. When in doubt, just love your child and yourself,” she said.

We can’t agree with that enough. Motherhood isn’t about being perfect or getting it right all the time. It’s about doing your best and being there for your little one.

When in doubt, just focus on how much your love that baby. Don’t forget to love yourself, too, mama.

Emma also opened up about how she sees her own mother now that she’s become one.

When asked who she most admires, Roberts answered, “My mom, especially after having a baby. I kiss the ground she walks on!”

Last year, Roberts became the first-ever pregnant cover star of Cosmopolitan. In the wide-ranging article, she opened up about being pregnant during the pandemic, freezing her eggs, and her path to parenthood.

She also said she was ready to on all the highs and lows of motherhood. “Sometimes I think about seeing him in the morning and how I want to say good morning to him and how I want to put him to bed at night, all those things that end up creating your sense of safety. Sometimes it’s scary, though, because I’m responsible for this child’s world and memories, and I want to make it all wonderful.”

Becoming a parent can be scary—but if you keep everything in perspective, it’s easier. All Emma needs to do is listen to her own advice: when in doubt, just love your child and yourself.
