The show will debut on the Magnolia Network in 2021.
This year has been a tough one, but nothing has brought me more joy than knowing that our home improvement skills are going to get a bit better. No, we're not taking DIY classes or having a remodeling specialist give us a complete overhaul (though that would be amazing, right?).
The hit show Fixer Upper is coming back to and we're super hype.
After five seasons on HGTV, Chip and Joanna Gaines are bringing their home improvement show to their own network next year. If you're anything like us, you've been waiting with bated breath for an update since they shared they were coming back to TV on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in 2018.
According to People, the show brought in 17 million weekly viewers during its final run in 2018. But, even after a successful run, the couple shared in a blog post their decision to "catch our breath for a moment and strengthen the spots that are weak and give lots of love and attention to both our family and our businesses."
"These past few years, we've continued tackling renovations and projects, doing the work we're passionate about, but I don't think either of us anticipated how the show would become such a permanent fixture in our hearts," the parents to five children said in a recent statement. "We've missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes with you, and we're excited to do that again very soon!"
As much as we wished the new episodes aired this year, we'll have to wait a little bit more. The household show was set to debut this October, but has been pushed back because of the coronavirus pandemic. The new series will launch on Chip and Joanna Gaines' Magnolia Network, and will also include a cooking show hosted by Joanna Gaines.
Congrats, Chip and Joanna! We're glad to see you going back to your home improvement roots.
