As John Legend and Chrissy Teigen learned during her first pregnancy, baby name inspiration can come from just about anywhere—including the solar system.

“There was a blood moon happening. It was a very beautiful night, really big vivid red mood and just gorgeous,” Teigen tells Ellen DeGeneres of how she and Legend decided on the name “Luna” for their first-born. “I have a love for space. I think about space camp all the time and my days at space camp as youngster. And so I thought Luna was just perfect.”

Unfortunately it hasn’t been quite as easy the second time around. Now that they are expecting a baby boy, Teigen says she and Legend are really stumped for a good name.

“Boy names are really tough,” Teigen tells DeGeneres. “I don’t even think he will have a middle name because we can’t even think of a first name.”

With the little guy due to make his arrival in June, the expectant parents have a bit of time to make the big decision—but who among us can’t relate to the struggle? As fun as it is to dream of sweet monikers, it can be downright stressful when you consider how permanent the decision is.

There’s also some objective truth to Teigen’s statement that boys’ names are harder: According to data from the Social Security Administration, there are simply more girls names floating around the United States than boys names. In 2015 alone, parents used 18,993 unique names for girls versus just 13,959 unique names for boys.

Of course, Teigen and Legend only need one of those 14,000-some names for their son—so the odds they’ll find the right one are still pretty good.

To help them (or you!) out when selecting a perfect baby name, Dr. Holly Ruhl suggests a few fun practices:

  1. What do you want the name to represent? Just like Teigen’s love of space led to the name Luna, maybe another passion can lead to a name.
  2. Can you put a modern spin on a traditional favorite? Perhaps a family name could go for an update.
  3. What initials do you like—or want to avoid? As Ruhl says, if your last name is Smith, you should probably cross the option “Archer Scott” off the list.
  4. How do the names sound? As beautiful as a name looks on paper, try saying it out loud—and yelling it from across the house.

Considering Legend and Teigen got so creative in their choice for Luna’s name, we have little doubt they will pick another perfect one for baby boy. We can’t wait to hear it soon enough!
