Disney Cruise Line requiring all guests 5+ to be vaccinated against Covid in 2022

Disney Cruise Line is once again hitting the high seas in 2022—but there are new requirements in place for guests amid the ongoing pandemic.

Now that kids between the ages of 5-11 are eligible to receive the Covid vaccine, Disney Cruise Line is requiring that all guests over the age of five to get vaccinated in order to board the ship.

Those who are ineligible to receive the Covid vaccine due to age (babies and toddlers, for example) will have to take a Covid test at the terminal before boarding the cruise ship.

The new rules go into effect in two months—Jan. 13, 2022. Current requirements state that guests ages 12 and up must be fully vaccinated against Covid, and kids ages 5-11 must provide a negative Covid test for all trips before Jan. 13.

Disney Cruise Lines shut down all cruises in March 2020 due to the pandemic and only began setting sail again in October 2021.

This summer, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advised those who are at an increased risk for severe illness from Covid should aoid cruises altogether regardless of vaccination status.

“As we set sail again, the health and safety of our Guests, Cast Members and Crew Members is a top priority. Our focus remains on operating our ships in a responsible way that continues to create magic for all on board,” Disney says on their cruise line website.
