Comedian Amy Schumer recently announced her first pregnancy, but that’s not stopping her from performing (and getting real about how she’s feeling as a soon-to-be mama).

Now in her second trimester, Schumer talked about the pregnancy during her recent show at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas (her first since the announcement) People reports. “I don’t like it,” she told the crowd. “I’ve had a really tough pregnancy so far.”
The comments don’t come as too much of a surprise to Schumer’s Instagram followers, who noticed how she recently compared the first trimester of pregnancy to a scene from the 1995 movie Se7en. All joking aside, the truth is pregnancy isn’t always easy. Even in a healthy pregnancy there are times when you just don’t feel good, and it’s okay, if (like Schumer) you’re not loving every minute. Admitting that doesn’t mean you’re not thrilled to be pregnant. It doesn’t mean you’re not super excited to be a mom. When you’re having a tough pregnancy it’s okay to say so, mama.
Schumer’s relatable set also delved into a phenomenon so many mamas can relate to: People trying to guess whether you’re having a boy or a girl. According to Schumer, suddenly everyone is psychic when pregnancy is involved. “It’s a 50/50 shot. It’s better odds than in Vegas,” she said. “I don’t know what it’s going to be. I think it’s going to be a baby.”
Schumer jokes that she has “half a year” left of pregnancy, so there will be plenty more guesses before her baby does arrive. With the first trimester out of the way, we hope Schumer feels better for the rest of her pregnancy so she can keep dishing out the (relatable) jokes.
