Home / News Over 10,000 bottles and sippy cups recalled due to lead poisoning risk CPSC Lead is toxic if ingested by young children, and can cause adverse health effects. By Cassandra Stone November 28, 2022 CPSC Rectangle Green Sprouts, a self-described “natural” baby and toddler product company, is issuing a recall for 10,500 of its stainless steel bottles and sippy cups due to lead poisoning concerns. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, three of Green Sprouts’ products are subject to the recall: its 6-ounce stainless steel sippy cup, its 8 ounce stainless steel straw bottle, which have the tracking numbers 29218V06985 or 35719V06985, and its 6 ounce stainless steel sip and straw cup, which has the tracking number 33020V06985, according to the recall notice. The recalled stainless-steel bottles and cups’ bottom base can break off, which exposes a solder dot (a type of metal used to join metallic surfaces) that contains lead, according to the CPSC. This creates a lead-poisoning threat to any child using these products—as lead is incredibly toxic to young children. #recall: Toddler bottles and sippy cups.More than 10,000 stainless steel bottles and cups are being recalled because of lead poisoning concerns. The recall includes the Green Sprouts 6-ounce, steel sippy cups.
