Hilary Duff and Matthew Koma just dropped big news. The couple has welcomed their baby daughter into the world! She arrived last week, on Thursday, and the couple kept her to themselves for a few days before showing her sweet face to the world in an Instagram post Monday. In the caption, Duff also revealed that her daughter (who joins Duff’s son with ex-husband Mike Comrie, 6-year-old Luca) was born at home.
Duff’s baby announcement included her daughter’s unique name: Banks Violet Bair. Banks won’t just be growing up with a big brother, but also with a close-in-age cousin as Duff’s sister Hayley recently welcomed her second child, another girl named Lulu Gray. We’re sure Lulu and Banks will be total BFFs someday. And we’re also sure Duff is probably happy to no longer be pregnant. Back in July she took to Insta to remark on how hard being pregnant can be. “Giving love to all mamas who make it look effortless… this journey is hard as hell and also incredibly special. Lovely to have a little life inside and to day dream of all the new adventures to come buuuut almost impossible to get my own shoes on,” she wrote. “Sick of getting up 9 times a night to pee and looking at this weird body in the mirror that is not my own at the moment. Women are so bad ass, this was just a note to remind myself and remind others how’s strong and beautiful you are! WE GOT THIS.” Now that Banks is here, Hilary will have to get up in the night for reasons totally unrelated to her own bladder, but her note is still as true as it was in July. You really have got this, mama. Congrats to Hilary and Matthew. Banks is absolutely beautiful. ?
