No parent should have to worry that the high chair they trusted could put their baby at risk. But that’s the reality for thousands of families after the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced a recall of approximately 5,400 Boyro Baby 4-in-1 convertible high chairs sold on Amazon between October 2023 and November 2024.

These chairs, popular for their multi-use design and affordable price (they retail for $70–$90), have serious safety issues that could lead to falls, entrapment, or injury.

What parents need to know

According to the CPSC, the recalled chairs violate federal safety standards in several critical ways:

  • The harness isn’t properly secured, which means a child could slip or fall out of the seat.
  • The locks and latches can fail, making the chair unstable.
  • The gap between the seat and tray is too wide, creating a risk that a child could get stuck.

These defects aren’t just technical—they pose real dangers to babies and toddlers during everyday use.

Which high chair is affected?

The recall involves the Boyro Baby 4-in-1 convertible high chair, sold in green, gray, and pink. It’s marketed as a multi-functional seat that converts into a high chair, low chair, rocking chair, and slide.

If you’ve used this chair at home, it’s important to stop using it immediately—even if it seems sturdy.

What to do next

Boyro Baby is offering a full refund, but parents need to take a few steps:

  1. Stop using the chair right away.
  2. Disassemble the chair following the manufacturer’s instructions.
  3. Cut the restraint system and seat cushions to make it unusable.
  4. Email photos of the disassembled and destroyed parts to boyrobaby@outlook.com.

Once your photos are received, Boyro Baby will issue a full refund.

No injuries reported—but action is crucial

As of now, no children have been hurt, but that doesn’t mean the risk isn’t real. Taking action now could help prevent something far more serious.

A reminder about online baby gear purchases

This recall serves as an important reminder for all of us to pause before clicking ‘buy’—especially when shopping online. Even well-reviewed products sold through major platforms like Amazon may not meet the strictest safety standards. When possible, look for baby gear with clearly marked compliance labels to help protect your little one.
