It's hard not to be consumed by the stress and worry in our lives on a daily basis. We have families, jobs, bills, and a mile long to-do list. But even with all the multitasking and rushing around, it's nice to stop and think about how you can make your day or someone else's day happier with small, but intentional, gestures.

We want to share five kind and creative examples from Lori Deschene's Tiny Buddha's 365 Tiny Love Challenges that will make you feel good whether the challenge is aimed at you, a co-worker, or a stranger.

We're firm believers that the world could use a little more compassion every now and then. Here's 5 ways you can do your part:

Day 1

Respond kindly to someone who is unkind to you.

Day 2

Make “don't take it personally" your mantra today. If anyone seems excessively angry with you, consider that you merely triggered some deeper pain, and then choose to respond calmly and compassionately.

Day 3

Let someone else pass you on the road today instead of battling ahead. If you don't drive, let someone else go ahead of you during your commute.

Day 4

Write something supportive or encouraging on a blog post, forum post, or social media update.

Day 5

Email yourself a note of appreciation—for anything. Save it to read whenever you need a reminder of how great you are.
