Name: Krystal Stubbendeck

Neighborhood: Omaha, Nebraska

Occupation: Founder & Owner of Borrow For Your Bump

Baby’s Sex: Girl! (I swore it was a boy though)

How would you describe your pregnant style?

I am very fortunate that I have access to many maternity styles (but I still do have to restrain myself, as hard as it is sometimes) through Borrow for Your Bump (an e-commerce maternity store that rents and sells designer maternity styles). My style is laid back during the day--maxi skirts and dresses, very California. I have been wearing LA made for basic tees and tanks and NOM for skirts and maxi dresses. At night, I like to be a little more edgy in black leather leggings or gray skinny jeans by Seraphine paired with a long tunic top.

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your body during pregnancy?

I am tall (5'10") so my issues are always with length, in bottoms and tops. Luckily, brands like Seraphine, offer tall lengths. Comfort is also a challenge, especially with pants.

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

I am surprised by the general public's reaction to a pregnant woman. Once they can obviously tell you are expecting, strangers are generally more courteous and usually ask questions. Also, when visiting NYC a couple weeks ago, I couldn't believe how many people offered me their seats on the subway. It was so sweet!

What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

I love a long maxi dress that is tight around my bump and long and lose towards the bottom. I usually pair with a denim button-up shirt and roll up the sleeves to provide a little more coverage.

What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

Even though I don't live in NYC, my sister has lived there for the past 10 years so we usually visit once to twice a year. I love NYC in the spring--especially Central Park when everything is so green and beautiful.
