How would you describe your pregnant style?

It's pretty similar to my regular style, actually. I felt lucky to go through the majority of my pregnancy in the warmer months, so I wore a lot of tank tops, shorts (with elastic waistbands), and dresses. I have always loved flowy tops in the hot New York summers, so I already had a few non-maternity pieces to incorporate into my pregnancy wardrobe.

Have you had any challenges learning to dress your pregnant body?

No one ever told me was how uncomfortable it is to wear a bra while pregnant! As your rib cage expands and your bump grows, your bras no longer fit. I bought some bra extenders that allow me to wear my existing bras when I have to, but I became a lot more liberal about not wearing a bra this summer when I could get away with it.

So far, what has surprised you most during your pregnancy?

How gradually everything has happened. It makes so much sense that you need 9 months (10 really) for your body to change and for your baby to grow and start moving. It would be uncomfortable and shocking if it happened immediately, but since you have 4 to 5 months to get used to the idea of a tiny person growing inside of you, by the time I felt movements, I thought "finally!"

What’s been your favorite pregnancy piece or brand to show off your bump?

I love ASOS' maternity line. I also picked up a few pieces from Old Navy, including a black maxi dress I wore to death.

What NYC experience are you most looking forward to sharing with your baby?

I'm really looking forward to raising him in such a bustling city with a diverse culture. I love to picture walking everywhere we can, exploring museums and parks, trying foods that suburban kids don't have access to, and meeting other great city kids!
