Is there a better way to kick off Pride Month than getting the whole family in on a sing-along? Short answer: Nope! Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues has released a “Blue’s Clues Pride Parade Sing-Along” on the show’s YouTube channel and honestly, it’s pretty catchy.

The animated sing-along features Nina West, a drag queen and former contestant from RuPaul’s Drag Race singing to the melody of “The Ants Go Marching,” but with fun, friendly, LGBTQ+ inclusive lyrics.

The message is clear: representation matters, and Blue’s Clues is proud to represent LGBTQ+ families and kids everywhere.

In the parade, we see all types of families—some that have two daddies, some with two mommies and others with parents who are part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Here’s a sample of the lyrics, so you can get familiar with the tune before belting it out with your kids: “This family has two mommies. They love each other so proudly and they all go marching in the big parade.” The song also gives a shoutout to people who identify as trans, non-binary, and queer.

“Love is love is love you see, and everyone should love proudly,” West sings as the song comes to a close. “Happy Pride Month!”

It’s amazing to see a hugely popular, extremely well-known show that plays in the homes of millions of families with preschool-aged children all over the world embrace Pride Month this way. How wonderful for everyone, but especially for kids who might identify as LGBTQ+ or those who have family members who do. Happy Pride Month, indeed! Love is love.
