Khloe Kardashian is Pregnant–Here's the Gender!

There must be something in the water in Calabasas, California: Multiple sources confirm that Khloe Kardashian is pregnant—which puts her in the expectant mama club with sisters Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian. And after documenting her fertility struggles on Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the baby news is an especially big cause for celebration between Khloe and her boyfriend of one year, NBA player Tristan Thompson.

“This is something Khloe has wanted for years and years and yet it’s more than that… She didn’t want it unless she was in the right relationship for it,” a source close to the family told People. “This is such a wonderful moment for her: Not only is she going to be a mother, she is going to be raising a child with a man she truly loves. Everyone is over the moon for them both.”

According to TMZ, Khloe is about three months along, which reportedly puts her due date after those for Kylie and Kim’s surrogate. The insider added to People that Khloe was thrilled to share the news—but timing proved to be a bit sticky following the announcements from her sisters.

“It’s only been in just the past week or so that they’ve felt comfortable telling most of their inner circle,” the insider said. “Things were complicated a bit by Kylie’s announcement as they don’t want to be seen as intruding on that moment for her but it is now reaching a point where Khloe doesn’t want to be openly lying to people, and just staying quiet isn’t going to work anymore.”

Khloe’s struggle to conceive has been documented on Keeping Up With the Kardashians as recently as last season when a fertility specialist advised she stop taking birth control pills if she hoped to start a family in the near future due to her lower-than-average uterine follicle count. (Khloe previously revealed she “fake tried” to get pregnant during her troubled marriage with Lamar Odom.)

“Tristan and I definitely talk about starting a family,” Khloe said in the recent episode. “He wants to have about five or six kids with me and that’s lovely. We could start at one and we could grow from there. But now knowing I’m not on birth control is scary. It’s like a really big step.”

If it seems like a pretty wild coincidence that so many babies are on the way at once for the Kardashian-Jenner family, consider a 2014 study that found pregnancy can be slightly contagious—at least when it comes to close friends influencing each others decisions to expand their families. As Nicoletta Balbo, co-author of the research said, “The study shows the contagion is particularly strong within a short window of time.”

With three new babies on the way in a very small period of time, it seems the Kardashian-Jenners are confirmation of that!

Now their decision on a baby name is really up in the air, although Kardashian has said she’s leaning toward a “K” or “T” initial. We can’t wait to find out soon enough!
