After months of speculation, Kylie Jenner is finally opening up about becoming a new mama!

The makeup mogul revealed that she named her newborn daughter Stormi. She announced the news in a sweet Instagram snapshot posted on Tuesday afternoon.

In a previous birth announcement that she posted on Instagram February 4th, Jenner shared that her daughter was born on February 1st. She also acknowledged the unusual secrecy around the pregnancy—especially for a family known for baring it all for reality TV.

But as she shared in her post, the reason she chose to keep her baby news under wraps should be familiar to any mother out there: She wanted to do what she felt was best for her baby.

“I’m sorry for keeping you in the dark through all the assumptions,” she wrote. “I understand you’re used to me bringing you along on all my journeys. My pregnancy was one I chose not to do in front of the world.”

She went on to add, “I knew for myself I needed to prepare for this role of a lifetime in the most positive, stress free, and healthy way I knew how. There was no gotcha moment, no big paid reveal I had planned. I knew my baby would feel every stress and every emotion so I chose to do it this way for my little life and our happiness.”

Kylie’s news is just one part of the Kardashian clan’s baby boom. Sister Kim Kardashian welcomed her third baby in mid-January via surrogate, and sister Khloe is also expecting.

Jenner also posted a video giving fans a peek into her uber-private pregnancy, posting an 11-minute video to YouTube.
