If there is one thing kids constantly need it's new clothes. They grow fast, seasons change, trends change and we parents are left trying to catch up with what our family needs to get out of the house.
Enter: Clothing subscription boxes to save your bank and your mental load.
I had tried subscription boxes for myself before having kids and loved the surprise factor. Plus, I realized I was keeping things that I wouldn't have picked myself but were actually super flattering. When I found out there were a variety of boxes for kids I had to try them and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint.
You get a curated box designed specifically for your kid based on the info you submit so if you are a busy parent (🙋♀️) with little time to shop and want the peace of mind of knowing you'll have enough shirts and pants to cover an entire week, these are for you.
Here are our favorites:
To get started, you just take a quiz with your kid's preferences in clothing. Once the KIBOX team has your responses, they'll put together a personalized box with six to seven items. They carry over 160 premier brands (take a look here). Once you receive your box, you can have your kid try on everything and you'll only pay for what you keep. Shipping is free both ways so you don't have to feel bad about returning anything you don't love.
At Kids on 45th you create a profile for your child with their likes and dislikes, then get to choose what clothing types and quantities you want. For example, if you are running low on winter clothes you can specify you want more long sleeve shirts or jackets. What we really love about Kids on 45th is that all their clothes are secondhand and gently used, which helps the environment by keeping them out of landfills—plus, you get more bang for your buck. You can have up to 17 items in a $35 box! Also, sometimes you might even get clothes with tags (happened to me.) They carry sizes baby to 16 years old.
If there's something you don't like in the box you don't need to return it, you'll get a credit for that item and you are free to donate or pass on to another mama friend, that way everyone wins.
They carry awesome clothes—I mean, just take a look at their Instagram for inspo—and allow you to either subscribe to their boxes to save money or pick the stuff you love and buy right then. All the clothes are designed by their own designer team and range in sizes 2T to 14.
If you decide to go the subscription route, you'll get four boxes a year (one for every season) with eight unique pieces from their line. If there's something you don't like, you can return and just pay for what you keep.
Choulala box delivered exactly what I'd want from a subscription box for my child: unexpected quality, charming details (subtle but sparkly sequins on a tiered toddler dress? yes please), and high-quality brands. My daughter is obsessed with her leather strappy shoes and all the looks we were sent. It's the sweetest box to delight your child, gift a friend, or just enjoy the adorableness of your beautiful baby.
Kids outgrow shoes like crazy, I basically cannot keep up with my son's feet! That's why I love the Nike Adventure Club subscription box. You can choose from three plans: $20 a month for four pairs a year, $30 a month for six pairs a year or $50 a month for 12 pairs a year. All the shoes you get are brand new and come with an adventure booklet to spark your little one's curiosity. They also have really cool sneakers, to the point where when I got my son's pair, I liked them so much I had to check if Nike made them in my size.
Kidpik is made for stylish kids sizes 4-16, and shoe size 9-6. Take a quick style quiz, and your stylist will pick out seven pieces of high-quality clothing, shoes and accessories that make up 3 mix-and-match personalized outfits. After the 30% keep-all discount is applied, the average price of your fashion box is $95.00 (including shoes!)—or approximately $13.50 per item. There is no styling fee! Our Digital Education Editor tried this out for her daughter and they loved everything that came.
We independently select and share the products we love—and may receive a commission if you choose to buy. You've got this.
