Back to school season is here and the stress to get our kids dressed is real. Your little ones will want cool new outfits and you don't want to break your bank buying all the things you have to get for this new school year.
Enter: Clothing subscription boxes to save your bank and your mental load.
I had tried subscription boxes for myself before having kids and loved the surprise factor. Plus, I realized I was keeping things that I wouldn't have picked myself but were actually super flattering. When I found out there were a variety of boxes for kids I had to try them and let me tell you, they didn't disappoint.
You get a curated box designed specifically for your kid based on the info you submit so if you are a busy parent (🙋♀️) with little time to shop and want the peace of mind of knowing you'll have enough shirts and pants to cover an entire week, these are for you.
Here are our favorites:
Why we love it: To get started, you just take a quiz with your kid's preferences in clothing. Once the KIBOX team has your responses, they'll put together a personalized box with six to seven items. They carry over 160 premier brands (take a look here). Once you receive your box, you can have your kid try on everything and you'll only pay for what you keep. Shipping is free both ways so you don't have to feel bad about returning anything you don't love.
More to know: Their sizes go from newborn to 14 years old.
Price: Starting at $48
Kids on 45th
Why we love it: At Kids on 45th you create a profile for your child with their likes and dislikes, then get to choose what clothing types and quantities you want. For example, if you are running low on winter clothes you can specify you want more long sleeve shirts or jackets. What we really love about Kids on 45th is that all their clothes are secondhand and gently used, which helps the environment by keeping them out of landfills—plus, you get more bang for your buck. You can have up to 17 items in a $35 box! Also, sometimes you might even get clothes with tags (happened to me.) They carry sizes baby to 16 years old.
More to know: If there's something you don't like in the box you don't need to return it, you'll get a credit for that item and you are free to donate or pass on to another mama friend, that way everyone wins.
Price: $65 with free shipping, boxes below $65 pay for shipping.
Rockets of Awesome
Why we love it: They carry awesome clothes—I mean, just take a look at their Instagram for inspo—and allow you to either subscribe to their boxes to save money or pick the stuff you love and buy right then. All the clothes are designed by their own designer team and range in sizes 2T to 14.
More to know: If you decide to go the subscription route, you'll get four boxes a year (one for every season) with eight unique pieces from their line. If there's something you don't like, you can return and just pay for what you keep.
Price: $150 per box with subscription.
