15 things on sale we’d absolutely buy ourselves for Mother’s Day

Because we believe two things: You should never hesitate to treat yourself and you should never pay full price.
We independently select and share the products we love—and may receive a commission if you choose to buy.

Let’s be honest for a second, shall we? Mother’s Day expectations are the express lane to disappointment. The breakfast-in-bed fantasy versus reality (why is there jam on the ceiling?), the handmade cards that somehow require your cleanup, the “relaxing day” that still involves you remembering everyone needs clean underwear tomorrow.
This year, we’re advocating for a revolutionary approach: doing exactly what YOU want. Because nobody knows what makes you happy better than you do.
One of my most memorable Mother’s Days involved zero breakfast trays or overpriced brunches. Instead, I piled into my friend’s minivan with five other moms for a glorious kid-free expedition to IKEA in Montreal. We wandered those blue and yellow aisles in peaceful silence, lingered in the showrooms without anyone asking for snacks, and feasted on decidedly un-fancy Swedish meatballs. Pure bliss.
Mom guilt might normally stop us from splurging on ourselves (shouldn’t that money go to summer camp?), but these sales are practically a financial responsibility. Whether your ideal celebration involves finally buying that Spinelli ring dupe you’ve been eyeing (now 20% off!), wrapping yourself in the perfect summery robe, or treating your face to that skincare splurge everyone’s raving about – we’ve rounded up the best deals happening this weekend.
Consider this your permission slip to skip the “pretend to love the scented candle from the gas station” routine and instead, get yourself something you actually want. Because sometimes the best way to celebrate being a mom is to temporarily forget you are one–at least for a few blissful hours.
The Mother’s Day sales you’ll want to peruse
Madewell
I have to hand it to Madewell lately. In addition to evolving out of the art teacher chic spiral they’d been in for awhile, they are absolutely killing it in the accessories department. Are many of my current favorites dupes for high end pieces? Yes, but look, I was never going to spend $580 on a Khaite belt. And in this economy? That’s like a month’s worth of berries. Through May 12th, you can take 20% off accessories (and select shoes!) with code SPRING20. I’ve highlighted my personal faves, but there’s so much great stuff in there it’s really hard to pick.
Rothy’s
Motherhood requires two things above all: patience and comfortable shoes . The first one takes work. The second? Rothy’s has it covered for you. Knit from recycled plastic water bottles, the colorful and supremely comfortable kicks are the stuff capsule wardrobe dreams are made of. They’re unbelievably comfortable right out the box thanks to seamless construction (band-aids? who needs ’em??) and to make things even more toddler-chasing friendly, they’re designed to be thrown into the washing machine. They’ve got a ton of styles in their Final Few sale including options under $100 that are a total bargain.
Athleta
Through May 5th, practically all our Athleta faves are at least 25% off. Their wide leg linen pants which are a total summer wardrobe staple are now the cheapest we’ve ever seen
Coyuhi
The bougie organic home goods from Coyuchi are a nice treat, but even better when they’re on sale. They’ve got a great selection of things marked down right now that will elevate your every day, not just the one day a year you can say “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD I JUST WANT TO BE LEFT ALONE” without too much guilt.
Beauty and wellness sales
Our clean beauty go-to Credo is having their Friends of Credo sale through May 4th, which means I’m super tempted to stock up on some of my ride or dies (which you can scroll down to find). Practically everything is 20% off which is super helpful for the skincare budget. There’s also some great steals around the internet on tools like Therabody’s Theraface Pro and Higher Dose’s award-winner Red Light Face Mask–both of which seem probable to increase due to tariffs any day now. Maybe now’s the time?
