Home / Life / Beauty & Style / Beauty & Style Shopping Guides The ultimate beauty gifts for the makeup and skincare-obsessed From the perfect gua sha skincare kit, to the red lip must-have, we have you covered! By Sara Goldstein Updated October 30, 2023 We independently select and share the products we love—and may receive a commission if you choose to buy. Skincare and beauty products are a personal obsession. I spend hours scrolling the SkincareAddiction subreddit and keep running lists to make the most of the annual Sephora Sale. My bathroom and closet are stocked with enough serums and potions for six lifetimes and I’ve been known to schedule time with friends for the sole purpose of talking about skincare over a bottle of wine. (Which IMO is way more fun than a book club🤷♀️) Not surprisingly, beauty gifts are some of my absolute favorite to give and get during the holidays. In finding ways to bring on that holiday spirit, there’s no better way to spread the love than by gifting your loved ones with the best beauty essentials. Not only are holiday beauty gift sets a great way to introduce a fellow skincare junkie to brands you love, they’re also a great reminder that self-care isn’t selfish. Add in the fact that they’re often an amazing value that’s beautifully packaged and it’s a total no brainer. The challenge is choosing one. From the perfect gua sha skincare kit, to the red lip must-have, we have you covered! Looking for more gift ideas? Check out all of our holiday gift guides! Here are the best beauty gifts to give your besties this season: Our favorite holiday beauty gifts Iota • $80 1. Supergreens Set Why should your face get all the good stuff? Give their body care regimen a super boost with the award-winning trio from Iota. Since we first discovered the brand earlier this year, their microbiome balancing bodywash, serum and lotion have become routine staples. Because they’re packed with face-grade actives like Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid they help make skin brighter, healthier and overall more nourished–just like that skincare routine she’s been perfecting. SHOP IOTA Coco & Eve • $99 2. Super Hydration Holiday Edition Set If you’ve got a curly girly or otherwise parched coiffed vixen on your list, listen up. Coco & Eve’s limited edition Super Hydration Holiday Edition Set is packed with the essentials to give them the glossy, hydrated locks they’re dreaming of. The Bali-inspired line uses ingredients like coconut, fig and shea butter to strengthen and tame frizz from the very first use, and fittingly, smells like an island vacation. Best of all, it comes bundled in the cutest gift-ready drawstring bag! SHOP COCO & EVE SaltyFace • $119 3. Essential Tanning Set If “glowing bronzed goddess” is the look she’s going for, say no more. The nearly-fool proof Tanning Water and Tanning Foam from Saltyface gives a natural tan, that’s even and streak-free–even if she’s a total self-tanner newbie. And unlike others we’ve tried, it’s not at all stinky or overly sticky and miraculously, it doesn’t transfer to our sheets, either. The set provides everything needed to get that glow from top to bottom! SHOP SALTYFACE Om Organics • $64 4. Pure Glow: Holiday Mini Face Set Founded by an esthetician, Om Organics is the plant-based beauty brand you need to know (and tell your friends) about. Their clean formulas are like magic elixirs for sensitive, break-out prone and just plain old finicky skin, and pack the power to change any kind of skin for the better. This special holiday box includes everything your giftee will need to do battle with winter and get their glow on in one easy routine: The Pink Coconut Hydrating Face Mist and Kaolin + Coconut Milk Radiant Cleansing Balm which both smell like vacation in a bottle, their Gotu Kola + Squalane Hyaluronic Nourishing Cream to nourish parched skin without being greasy, and Bilberry + Tucuma Antioxidant Eye Cream to get that rested look they’ve been chasing since day one of motherhood. SHOP OM ORGANICS Westman Atelier • $75 6. Clean Glow Trio I From their long-lasting formulas to their elegant packaging, Westman Atelier lives up to the hype. (In fact, their creamy blush sticks are one of my top three make-up must-haves of all time.) This gorgeous limited edition set includes three of their signature products–the Baby Cheeks Blush Stick, Light Up Highlight Stick and Face Trace Contour Stick–which come together to create a put-together look that’s not overdone. SHOP NORDSTROM Dr. Dennis Gross • $153 7. Peel Vault If glowing skin is on her Christmas list, look no further. The alpha beta peels from Dr. Dennis Gross are the most effective at-home treatments for dull, damaged and aging skin that I’ve ever used. I started using them when professional facials were off the table and after the very first use, I could feel a difference–my skin was extraordinarily soft and my pores had diminished considerably. They’ve been a weekly staple ever since. This gift set is an incredible value, including 60 Extra Strength Peels and 35 Universal Daily Peels to seriously transform their skin. SHOP SEPHORA Trio Beauty • $40 8. Butterfly Brow Lifting Trio For the mama who wants to up her brow game, Trio Beauty is key. Their Butterfly Brow Lifting Trio includes three easy-to-use products that create a totally on-trend laminated look we love. The best part? It only takes minute or two. SHOP TRIO By Rosie Jane • $85 9. Dulce 3-Piece Home + Body Set The simple-but-sophisticated clean fragrances from By Rosie Jane are not only personal go-tos–they also seem to please everyone who smells or wears or them. Their latest, Dulce, is a decadent vanilla that’s giving me high school vibes with a grown-up edge that’s nostalgic in the best way. For holiday, they’ve put together a fab collection which includes a full-size perfume, a travel bottle of body oil and a 30 hour candle to immerse her in all things sweet. It’s the perfect introduction to one of our favorite brands–but be sure to warn her that she won’t be able to quit those candles. #sorrynotsorry SHOP BY ROSIE JANE Lanolips • $45 10. 101 Gold Collection Trio A trio of multitaskers, the 101 Gold Collection from Lanolips gives a dewy pop of flush to lips and cheeks. The lanolin-based formulas come in Baby Rose Gold, Rose Gold and Bronze Gold that give a healthy glow to all different skin tones. SHOP LANOLIPS Wildling • $129 11. Empress Collection Turn her skincare routine into a nourishing, self-love ritual with the ancient practice of gua sha. From reducing puffiness to helping diminish fine lines, a few minutes a day can make a big difference. This absolutely stunning set from Wildling provides her with the tools and serums she needs to nourish, rejuvenate and get her glow on naturally. And if she needs a bit of education, the 21 day facial gua sha challenge is exactly what she needs to learn what all the hype is about. SHOP WILDLING Esker • $85 12. Esker Body Plane Set Exfoliation isn’t just good for your skin–with the right tools, it’s a downright satisfying ritual. Along with their highly absorbable body oil, the body plane tool from Esker glides over skin to remove dry skin, dirt and oils. A few long, slow strokes after a bath or shower may just become her favorite few minutes of the day. SHOP ESKER Stila • $20 13. Red-y to Rumble Stay All Day® Liquid Lipstick Set With a swipe of red lipstick, there’s nothing she can’t conquer. It’s badassery in a tube and chances are every woman on your list can use a little more of that. We’re loving this duo from Stila which includes two full-size Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks in Beso (their totally iconic true red) and Rubino (a darker, ruby hue) which creates a matte finish that lasts for up to 12 hours. (It’s so budge-proof it’s a go-to for wedding wear!) SHOP STILA Eight Saints • $10 14. Discovery kit Clean, affordable beauty? Yes, please. Eight Saints has put together a kit with sampler-sized versions of their entire skincare line and you can gift it to someone for only 10 bucks. That is not a typo. This is one of the best values out there, and if you want to be extremely generous, you can even offer up to buy a full-sized version of whatever their favorite product is. My favorites are the Nightshift hydration gel and the Desert Rose mask. SHOP EIGHT SAINTS Matrescence • $240 15. Pregnancy Skincare Gift Set If you’ve got a pregnant mama on your list to spoil, this luxurious set from the maternity skincare experts at Matrescence is just what you’re looking for. It includes their Rose Glow Purifying Cleanser, a gentle, clarifying face wash that helps manage those bummer hormonal breakouts without drying or stripping the skin. There’s also the Rose Glow Brightening Essence, a two-in-one toner and serum to help her safely and effectively manage the other skin woes that often come with pregnancy, including dullness, hyperpigmentation. And because her belly is doing some hard work as well, there’s the to-die-for Stretch Mark Relief Refining Scrub. The indulgent scrub smells good enough to eat and packs the power of coffee and cocoa to soothe dry and itchy skin and improve the appearance of stretch marks. (What can’t coffee and chocolate fix, TBH?) SHOP MATRESCENCE Nuface • $250 16. MINI+ Smart Petite Facial Toning Routine As one of the most coveted at-home devices in the skincare world, there’s no doubt the NuFace will be the gift. The award-winning tool uses microcurrents to exercise and tone your face, improving the contour of the cheeks and jawline along with softer, firmer skin and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. To be perfectly honest, I was skeptical. But after one session I was totally hooked. The free app pairs with your device to walk you through a menu of treatments that target different areas and concerns as well as monitor your progress through photos. My favorite is currently the 5-minute Facial Lift which gives me that well-rested awake look I’m always chasing with syringes of botox. Consistency is key, but it’s a total game-changer! SHOP SEPHORA Cap Beauty • $58 Serotoner For the clean beauty mavens, the CAP Beauty Serotoner is a guaranteed slam dunk. Yes, it’s a face mist, but IMO it’s also a mental vacation in a bottle. Among a host of glorious botanicals which hydrate and soothe, the Cap Beauty Serotoner is infused with griffonia, a plant which is said to increase the “feel good” hormone serotonin. I’m not sure if that’s what’s happening when I spray it, but regardless, its coconut, neroli and rose scent is without a doubt one of the most divine things I’ve ever smelled. It’s transportive, glow-giving and calming for both skin and mood. SHOP CAP BEAUTY Kitsch • $22.79 Satin Pillowcase From protecting hair from frizz and breakage to keeping skin clear and happy, satin pillowcases > regular old pillowcases. There are a lot out there to choose from, but we’re partial to the women-owned, LA-based Kitsch which hold up wash after wash. SHOP AMAZON Herbivore • $45 Coco Mint Coconut Oil Body Scrub Who says showers can be as luxurious as baths? For one thing, you’re not sitting in a stew of yourself. Add in a few indulgent products and you’ve got a true oasis. The special edition Coco Mint Oil Body Scrub from Herbivore smells like candy canes and chocolate and makes skin oh-so-soft. Be warned though. If you don’t hide it from your kids it will disappear. SHOP HERBIVORE A version of this story was published on November 12, 2020. It has been updated.
